One of the endangered southern resident killers whales breaches in front of a fishing boat off the coast of Vancouver Island. These whales face extinction from a number of factors including loss of primary food source and increased underwater noise pollution. Increased stress on salmon populations come from overfishing and poor management of fish farms along the BC coastline. Hopefully, with continued pressure from the public, fish farms along this pristine coastline will soon become a thing of the past, giving these endangered whales a better chance at survival.
